After coming up just short in a dramatic 4-3 El Clásico defeat at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys over the weekend, Los Blancos now find themselves seven points behind their bitter rivals with just three matches left to play.

Mallorca, meanwhile, travel to the capital in the midst of their own late-season push, sitting level on points with Rayo Vallecano in the hunt for a potential spot in next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League. After a vital win last time out, the Balearic outfit will be eager to spring a surprise against the Spanish giants and keep their European dream alive.

Real Madrid vs. Mallorca predicted lineups, team news

Real Madrid head into their midweek clash against Mallorca facing a growing injury crisis, with several key names set to watch from the sidelines as the La Liga season reaches its final stretch.

Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive options have been heavily depleted, with Antonio RudigerEder Militao, and Dani Carvajal all nursing knee issues. Full-back Ferland Mendy and midfielder Eduardo Camavinga are also unavailable due to muscle strains, adductor and thigh respectively.

Things went from bad to worse in the recent El Clasico defeat, as star forward Vinicius Junior limped off with a sprained ankle and looks unlikely to feature on Wednesday. Lucas Vázquez also picked up a thigh injury in that fiery encounter, ruling him out as well.

There’s uncertainty surrounding Rodrygo, who has been sidelined with illness for the past two games. Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni will also be missing, serving a one-game suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

Real Madrid predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Courtois (GK) — Vazquez, Tchouameni, Asencio, Garcia — Modric, Bellingham, Valverde — Guler, Mbappe, Vinicius Jr.

Suspended: Aurélien Tchouaméni (red card).

Mallorca aren’t exactly at full strength either. Head coach Jagoba Arrasate will once again be without the services of Manu Morlanes and Robert Navarro, both still recovering from hamstring and adductor injuries. Striker Abdon Prats remains sidelined with a calf issue that has already kept him out of the last two fixtures.

Chiquinho’s status is also up in the air after missing the win over Valladolid at the weekend.

Depending on fitness assessments, Arrasate may tweak his lineup for the trip to the capital, with Jose CopeteAntonio Sanchez, and Cyle Larin all pushing for a place in the starting eleven at the Bernabeu.

Mallorca predicted XI (5-2-2-1, right to left): Greif (GK) — Maffeo, Valjent, Raillo, Copete, Mojica — Sanchez, Mascarell — Costa, Darder — Larin.

Injured: Abdon Prats (foot), Manu Morlanes (hamstring), Robert Navarro (muscle).
Suspended: None.
