The rivalry between the two dates back to when their fathers fought one another. However, this feud has a little more flair to it.
Eubank (34-3) was supposed to fight Benn (23-0) in 2022 but got nixed after Benn failed two drug tests. The U.K. Anti-Doping Agency suspended him, and Benn underwent a two-year battle with anti-doping authorities. The WBC believed the contamination might have come from “highly elevated consumption of eggs.”
A former interim WBA middleweight and British champion, Eubank went 2-1 following the nixed Benn fight. Eubank has helped sell the fight, from slapping Benn with an egg at a press conference to arguing with promoter Eddie Hearn. The 35-year-old is ready to put an end to the Benn hype.

“You had the whole public behind you. Everyone wanted you to win. Everyone wanted you to be the next big thing in boxing. I never had that. Do you know what I would have given to be in that situation? You had it, and you pissed it all away,” Eubank said.
“Literally pissed it all away. Now you’re here… We’re going to fight, and you’re going to try to use me to get back in the public’s good graces. It’s just not going to happen for you, kid. I’m sorry to break it to you.”
Benn fought in the U.S. while his U.K. license was being worked on. Though his reputation soured, he’s still a dangerous puncher with 14 wins via knockout. “The Destroyer” looks to return to the spotlight and force Eubank out of the sport.
“I just can’t take him seriously, that’s all. Just look at his career. Every time he’s stepped up, he’s failed. Every time. Yeah, you’ve faced better opposition; well done you, but this is the end of your career. This is the end. This is it for you,” Benn said.
