A 2008 Olympic gold medalist in wrestling, Cejudo (16-4) won the UFC flyweight title in 2018 and the UFC bantamweight title in 2019. After beating Dominick Cruz in May 2020, Cejudo retired from MMA to focus on his family. The 38-year-old returned three years later and has gone 0-2 since.

Turning pro at 16, Yadong (21-8-1, 1 NC) is 2-2 in his last four fights. The former Sanda champion has twice lost his momentum and is ranked eighth in the bantamweight rankings.

Yadong has called out Cejudo for a while. After finally getting the opponent he has asked for, the 27-year-old will look to make the most of this opportunity on fight night.

“He’s (Cejudo) a very good wrestler, he’s an Olympic-level wrestling skilled,” Song said on Home of Fight via MMA Junkie. “I believe he can take me down, but I don’t think he can hold me down. I know I can handle it. I believe in my ground skills.

“And this fight, I will try my best to knock him out and give him a lot of pressure in the cage. I like five rounds. Five rounds gives me more time and experience and suffering for him. I will knock him out in the early rounds or beat him by decision, but I will win the fight. I believe in myself.”
